The Central Railway (CR) will complete a major portion of work on the foot overbridge (FOB) at Vikhroli, following which trains going towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Kalyan will be diverted, officials said.
The Central Railway (CR) will complete a major portion of work on the foot overbridge (FOB) at Vikhroli, following which trains going towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Kalyan will be diverted, officials said.

The CR authorities will complete basic work of erecting pillars and other vital works for installing the FOB at Vikhroli for two days, May 25 and 26, after 12am.
The authorities have planned a special block between Mulund and Ghatkopar stations between 12.40am and 4.20am for carrying out necessary work on the FOB.
Trains will be diverted to the fast line between Matunga and Mulund and these trains will not halt at Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg and Nahur stations, CR officials said on Tuesday.
The CR authorities propose to start four such trains post-midnight from the CST station, which will go to Ambernath, Kasara, Thane and Karjat.
Six trains starting late night heading towards CST will be diverted and wouldn’t halt at these stations. “This is the last such special block needed to set up the basic infrastructure for the FOB. We are sure of completing this FOB by June-end,” said a senior CR official, requesting anonymity.
Once this work is complete, the authorities plan to carry out work of constructing the staircases at both ends, pathway of the FOB and a booking counter at Vikhroli. The FOB will be constructed between platforms 1 and 4 at a cost of Rs1.5 crore.
Similar blocks were carried out on May 14-15 and May 20-21 to complete work on this FOB, officials said.
The fifth and sixth lines on the Thane-Kurla stretch had faced vehement opposition from locals, who were pressing for the Vikhroli FOB to be complete, before making new lines operational.
Angry residents also staged a dharna close to the tracks wearing black bands.
The locals also tried to obstruct the visit of commissioner railway safety who was inspecting the fifth and sixth lines in April.
