This year Dahi Handi will be a techfest with big mandals using everything from 3D technology to live streaming to give their handi an edge.
At Thane's Sanskruti Yuva Pratishthan Vihang Dahikala Utsav, organisers have tied up with UFO digital to make a 3D film of their event. Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena has gone a step further and tied up with Microsoft for a worldwide live streaming of their Shivaji Park programme
Celebrity visits and DJs playing live music are no longer enough for the new generation. “Today's youth need more,” said Jeetendra Ahwad, NCP legislator whose Sangharsh mandal is inviting Spanish castellers.
