Dressed in a white kurta and blue jeans, the actor reached the court around 2.30pm, along with his wife Manyata, sister Priya Dutt, brothers-in-law Owen Roncon and Kumar Gaurav, and director Mahesh Bhatt.

Dutt was injured outside the court premises as mediapersons and fans jostled to get his photograph. Once in court, Dutt’s advocate Rizwan Merchant told judge GA Sanap that the actor was roughed up and was hit on the chest by the crowd as he struggled to reach the court premises. The judge asked Dutt to sit in the dock with the other convicts who had come to surrender. Family members were allowed to sit with the actor.

The court began the surrender procedure and the actor was called in the dock for the identity verification. After the formalities were over, Sanap ordered the police to take the actor into custody and instructed the commissioner of police to ensure proper security arrangements when the convicts are taken to jail.
