Officials from the department have written letters to the ICSE and CBSE boards asking them to send the details of their students appearing for the board exam from Mumbai this year so that it can be fed into the online admissions system.

ICSE students had to manually fill in their marks and personal details into the online forms last year.

“We have written letters asking them for pre-exam data (name, address, school) as well as post-exam data (their marks) so it will automatically open up when the student types in their hall ticket number,” said an official from the education department.

The department will be sending out the letters on Friday.

“If it comes through it would make the process simpler, but I am not sure whether the marks of all seven subjects would appear,” said Seema Buch, principal of Gundecha Education Academy in Kandivli.
