Tendulkar withdrew his proposal last month when the government did not take any decision on his demand as his house fell under the coastal regulatory zone, in which only group housing gets extra FSI.

Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan was reluctant to make an exception for Tendulkar because of the Union Environment Ministry’s strict rules. In the Upper House, the legislative council chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh directed the government to review Tendulkar’s FSI request.

In the Assembly, however, no assurance was given when Shiv Sena’s Subhash Desai and other group leaders made a similar demand.
