MUMBAI: The state government on Friday announced a sevenmember committee under Thane district collector Mahendra Kalyankar to probe into the blast in the chemical factory at Dombivli. The committee has been mandated to submit its report in one month and also recommend the measures to be taken to avert the repetition of the incident in future.

Announcing this, labour and industrial safety minister Prakash Mehta said the committee will comprise police officers, industrial experts and government officials. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who visited the injured in local hospitals on Thursday, announced strict action against those responsible for the blast.

The government has also announced it will bear the expenses of the treatment of those injured and also directed the local authorities to conduct a survey for compensating who have lost their properties.
