The police said they have recovered a country-made rifle, a country-made revolver, a magazine and 14 live rounds. Senior inspector, S Dhanedhar said Gujjar is a farmer from Munnar district of Madhya Pradesh.

Deputy commissioner of police (zone X), Prakash Mutyal said, “We received a tip off that a man from MP was coming to our jurisdiction to sell the arms. Acting on it, we laid a trap and arrested him near Rehmani Hotel at Khairani Road.”
Gujjar has been charged with possession of unregistered weapons and was produced in the court on Thursday.

He has been remanded to one day of police custody. The police are trying to ascertain who the buyer of the consignment was. “We are also trying to ascertain if Gujjar had sold the weapons to anyone in the city,” Mutyal added.
