Former corporator held for demanding Rs 2 L bribe
A BJP leader and former corporator of Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation was arrested by the Anti-Extortion cell of the Thane police, the police said on Friday.

A BJP leader and former corporator of Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation was arrested by the Anti-Extortion cell of the Thane police, the police said on Friday.
The arrested leader had demanded and accepted money from a builder, who was adding a few storeys to his building.
Police said there was rampant construction of unauthorised structures in Bhiwandi. In one such construction, the arrested leader had made a demand of Rs2 lakh from a builder to allow him to construct the fourth floor.
