Harassed by in-laws, woman ends life

Rekha Vikas Shinde, 20, residing at Tanang in Sangli district committed suicide on Tuesday night. The police arrested her husband, Vikas Shinde, 17, father in-law, Navnath Shinde, 45, and mother-in law Ashabai Shinde, 36, on Wednesday.

Rekha Vikas Shinde, 20, residing at Tanang in Sangli district committed suicide on Tuesday night. The police arrested her husband, Vikas Shinde, 17, father in-law, Navnath Shinde, 45, and mother-in law Ashabai Shinde, 36, on Wednesday.

According to police, Rekha was being harassed by husband and in-laws. They were demanding that her parents give them money.

The police said Rekha told her parents to give them the money but they did not act immediately. When she committed suicide her parents and relatives rushed to Miraj Mission Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Her parents are demanding action be taken against her husband and in-laws.
