Heavy rain in city, wall collapse kills 3 children

As heavy rain lashed the city on Thursday, a wall near a hillock in Kurla collapsed on a shanty, killing three children and injuring seven others of a family as they were sleeping.

A slab from the roof of a building in Goregaon also collapsed on Thursday afternoon, but not one was injured.

Around 23 trees fell across the city because of strong winds and water-logging was reported in the usual chronic flooding spots such as Hindamata, Parel, Dadar and Borivli subway.

The catchments areas of the six lakes also received good rain.

The weather department has predicted heavy thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds for Friday.
