Hoax call grounds Kingfisher flight in Mumbai

The Air Traffic Control (ATS) asked the Mumbai-Lucknow flight to ground after receiving an anonymous phone call informing about a bomb planted in the plane.

A Lucknow-bound Kingfisher Airlines flight had to be grounded here on Thursday following a bomb scare.

The Air Traffic Control (ATS) asked the Mumbai-Lucknow flight to ground after receiving an anonymous phone call informing about a bomb planted in the plane.

The flight had 166 passengers on board.

The aircraft after being grounded, was taken to a remote bay and all passengers were deplaned and a detailed search was conducted.

The flight, IT-3149 was scheduled to take off from the Mumbai's domestic airport at 4.45 p.m. when the anonymous call was recieved.
