Vora was arrested on November 25 last year under MCOCA for allegedly providing key information such as supplying the licence plate number of the motorcycle and address of the slain journalist to underworld fugitive Chhota Rajan. She had moved a bail plea on April 7, which came up for hearing on Monday.

Vora, in her plea has stated that the allegations made against her are baseless and false and the prosecution has no evidence to prove their case. “There is not a single outgoing call made by her. It would therefore be wrong to state that she had instigated Rajan against Dey, speaking ill about him’,” the bail plea stated.

While the prosecution, objecting to the bail plea, relied on the statement of the witnesses who had spoken about the enmity between J Dey and Vora and her link-ups with Rajan.

The court reserved the order on the bail plea for May 2.
