Chief Executive Officer of Jaslok Hospital, Manesh Masand, was summoned to the legislative Council on Wednesday and reprimanded by Chairman, Shivajirao Deshmukh.
The House had moved a breach of privilege motion against Masand for misbehaving with legislators who had visited the hospital on January 16, 2008.
“You have been reprimanded for not behaving well and back answering the members and you are being warned not to repeat this, else you will be held responsible,” Deshmukh said as Masand stood in the witness box at the door of the house.
Masand refused to speak to journalists on the issue.
On January 16, 2008, a committee comprising legislators, Dr. Deepak Sawant, Jayant Patil, Madhu Chavan and then minister of state for animal husbandry Hasan Mushrif had visited the hospital to check the records of patients admitted there.
Masand had refused to show them the records and even argued with them.
He had allegedly also attempted to assault the committee members.
