Jewellery heist: Cops continue hunt for guard

A team from MIDC police station that went to Karnataka to track down a security guard, who is a prime suspect in the Rs3.5-crore burglary at a jewellery firm’s office, is still to get any leads on his whereabouts.

Balbhim Chivle, 22, went missing after a burglary at the Andheri (East) of office of Geetanjali Jewellers on Monday.

The team left for Karnataka after the security company that Chivle was employed with provided them with his address. “Our team is in Karnataka, but Chivle has not reached there. Our men are keeping a close watch at his residence,” said Mohan Waghmare, inspector, MIDC police station.
