A source said the six-page letter, allegedly written by Jiah, does not mention anyone’s name, nor is it addressed to anyone. The family has notarised the letter so it cannot be manipulated.

The source added that the letter mentioned Jiah’s distressed relationship, a medical procedure she underwent while in the relationship and a trip to Goa.

Vishwas Nangre-Patil, regional additional commissioner of police said, “We have received the notarised letter and are studying it. It is too premature to say if the letter suggests any abetment to Jiah’s suicide.” Police have taken the letter as a panchnama.
