The woman, Ruby, was from Uttar Pradesh. She came to Mumbai two months ago after running away from home and approached Kishan, who knew her from before. Around 8pm on Friday, Ruby went to the bathroom of Kishan’s residence. When she did not emerge, the family started knocking on the door. But Ruby did not open the door and a few minutes later allegedly jumped from the window. Other residents who found the body informed Ravi and his family and also told the police. Ravi’s wife told police Ruby was short-tempered and would react strangely when angry. “We have not found a suicide note on her person or in the house. We have registered a case of accidental death,” said a senior officer from Bangur Nagar police station.
