A 19-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly raping a 20-year-old domestic help at knifepoint on Sunday.
A 19-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly raping a 20-year-old domestic help at knifepoint on Sunday.
The victim works as a domestic help in Goregaon (West) and lives in a chawl in Oshiwara Link Road.
The victim was returning home from the common toilet in her neighbourhood when Kalpesh alias Khandya Khandagale allegedly forcibly took her to a vacant spot in the locality and raped her.
The accused who works as a salesman in an electronics shop in Goregaon (West) reportedly threatened to kill her if she informed the police.
The victim told her mother about the incident.
The woman’s parents then took her to the Bangur Nagar police station and lodged a complaint against the accused.
“We arrested Khandagale from his house in Goregaon and the victim has been sent to the Nagpada hospital for medical examination,” said Maruti Telang, senior police inspector of Bangur Nagar police station.
