The body of an unidentified man was found in a gutter near a residential colony at Kopar Khairane on Monday.

The police said the man was around 30-32 years old.

The body was found in the gutter between Pragati housing society and Gagangiri housing society of sector 9 around 8 am.

Said a local security guard, Rakesh Wardham, “I have not seen the man around. He does not seem to be a resident of the area.”

“There were blood and injury marks on the face and he was only wearing a shirt,” Wardham added.

Mukhud Hatote, senior police inspector of Kopar Khairane police station said, “We are questioning the local security guards and some workers in the area. We are awaiting the post mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death.”

Deputy commissioner of police, Purshottam Karad said, “The injuries seem to be superficial and there was no blood found on the ground near the body.” The police said they are probing all angles.
