The higher education department had been facing flak as the post was vacant for nearly two years. Also, the university created a post of director of examinations after a final year BCom paper leaked last week. SA Deo, a principal of Gogate-Joglekar College in Ratnagiri, was appoi-nted for the post.

In an hour-long meeting that took place at Raj Bhavan, the governor, who is the de-facto head of the university, expressed his displeasure at the reluctance of the government to take decisions.

Tope was not available for comments despite repeated attempts.
