No respite for those who are seeking stay on NIT admissions

With the Hyderabad high court refusing to pass judgment on the normalisation of marks as the case is pending in the apex court, there seems to be no respite for petitioners seeking a stay on the admission process to National Institute of Technology (NIT) and other institutes.

Petitions on the issue are pending in the Bombay, Delhi, Lucknow and Kerala high courts. The CBSE counsel has been directed to file for a transfer of all pending petitions to the Supreme Court (SC) by July 19.

“The judge has said if CBSE does not get a stay from the SC by next week, he will hear the matter every day from Friday,” said Dr Sanjeev Sanghvi, faculty, IIT-Delhi, on Tuesday.
