Notorious drug peddler held from Sion

The Antop Hill police, on Friday, arrested a 55-year-old woman with 25 gm of brown sugar worth Rs 2.5 lakh from Sion-Koliwada.

The Antop Hill police, on Friday, arrested a 55-year-old woman with 25 gm of brown sugar worth Rs 2.5 lakh from Sion-Koliwada.

Police claim Savitri Tiriya Swami Devendra, is one of the biggest drug peddlers in the city, who supplies narcotics to small peddlers.

Savitri, originally from Tamil Nadu, is a wholesaler of drugs and supplies to dealers in the city.

The police received a tip-off that Savitri was to come to her house at Sion-Koliwada and laid a trap for her. They arrested her as soon as she arrived.

Shamsher Khan Pathan, senior inspector of Antop Hill police station, said there are around 25 cases against Savitri with the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai crime branch.
