One killed in accident at Vashi creek

Arvind Singh,21, a resident of Seawoods in Nerul was killed in an accident on the Vashi creek bridge Tuesday. The police said Singh, who was driving, was trapped under the rear wheel of a trailer.

Arvind Singh,21, a resident of Seawoods in Nerul was killed in an accident on the Vashi creek bridge Tuesday. The police said Singh, who was driving, was trapped under the rear wheel of a trailer.

The accident took place at 11am. Singh worked as a salesman at Jalaram Distributors, a company in Ghatkopar. He is survived by his wife.

Sunil Gavari, assistant police inspector (Traffic) said, "Witnesses told us that Singh was trying to overtake the empty trailer from the wrong side. It was during this overtaking that the accident occurred and he came under the rear wheel of the trailer." "Singh sustained grevious injuries and died on the spot," Gavari added. Police have detained the trailer driver and are investigating if he was at fault.
