Pancholi moves for discharge, claims no evidence against him

The actor alleged there is no evidence to prove his guilt in connection with the Jiah Khan case

Actor Sooraj Pancholi on Thursday moved a discharge application, alleging there is no evidence to prove his guilt in connection with the Jiah Khan case. Pancholi’s advocate Prashant Patil said, “We were compelled to file discharge application on Thursday as the prosecution has failed to open the case and kepts seeking adjournments for the case.”

The discharge application, which runs into 39 pages, contends that the allegations against Sooraj are patently absurd, and no prudent person can ever reach the conclusion that there are sufficient grounds for framing charges against Pancholi.

In the application, Pancholi has alleged that Jiah was in depression owing to her relationship with her former secretary Jaydeep and had attempted suicide on several occasions.

He also alleged that Jiah’s letter on the basis of which he was specifically to him. “The so-called suicide note was pulled out of a particular diary and the pages after and before the suicide not are important and need to be considered to understand who the alleged person [is],” he stated.

Patil also said that the prosecution has also not established a motive. All these circumstances, Patil said, it reflects that there is no case against Pancholi.
