“The girl’s parents identified the shoes and the dress the girl had worn before she went missing,” said special public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat.
Gharat said that the parents had also identified a photograph of the victim.
Shaikh, employed with a local cable operator, was arrested on July 1 on charges of raping and murdering a minor girl.
Three minor girls have been raped and murdered in Nehru Nagar since February this year.
The police, on August 13, had filed a 325-page charge sheet against the accused, which consisted statements of around 45 witnesses, medical reports, forensic reports, DNA test report.
The court, on September 17, had framed charges under section 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder), and 376(2) (f)(committing rape on a woman when she is under twelve years of age) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
Mohammed Ajmeri (29), another rape suspect, was granted bail as the Nehru Nagar police failed to file the charge sheet against him in the stipulated 90 days period.
The case is likely to come up for hearing on October 7.
