Ashit Sheth, who stays at Venus apartments, chose party over prayer and called his friends over for the match

“A projector, lots of beer and good food made it a perfect evening,” said Sheth.

On the other hand, Sundip Atit welcomed guests as his mother and more than 20 women chanted the Hanuman Chalisa.

“They normally do this

once a month but this time we scheduled it for the final,” said Atit.

The match was an excuse for a delicious spread. “We made all possible dishes — Italian, Chinese, Indian,” said Khyati Vedia-Jethwani, 28, a Chembur resident, who hosted 20 people, all dressed in blue.

Almost everyone had all-night plans with dance parties and long drives after the match.
