Ribeiro in his letter had questioned the appointment of top police officers who are currently enjoying key posts in the police force. “ I have asked CP to look into the complaints on officers who were referred to in the letter,” said Patil.

In the letter, Ribeiro not only questions the appointment of Joint Commissioner of Police Himanshu Roy, Additional CP
(North Region) Ramrao Pawar, Deputy CPs Ajit Patil (Zone 12) and Sanjay Banerjee (Zone 11), but also alleges that they have a reputation for “greed and corruption”.

“There were complaints against these officers from their colleagues and the report from the CP will reveal the actual situation,” he added.
