Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) minister Sachin Ahir is organising the Worli Festival where he has lined up events like horse riding and a children’s fair at Jamboree Maidan. “These events help me connect with my electorate,” Ahir said.

The Parle Festival organised by the BJP has 32 events, including a healthy baby competition, boxing, drawing competition and music. BJP leader Parag Alvani said such events play a major role in boosting the morale of party cadres.

The Mulund festival organised by Congress MLC Charansingh Sapra has events such as cricket, bike races, ramp walk and cookery, with celebrities like Celina Jaitley, Aditya Raj Kapoor and Karanveer Bohra cheering participants.

The Shiv Sena and MNS are also organising festivals. The Sena units have Malvani food fests across the city, while the MNS just finished with its Koli festival to promote seafood.
