“The government is unable to contain price rise and is giving no indication of being capable of curbing inflation,” party leader Abu Asim Azmi told reporters in the city.

“Price of essential commodities that people require on a day-to-day basis is increasing. Fuel prices are sky-rocketing.

The rich is becoming more richer, while the condition of poor is further deteriorating,” he alleged. “Our Prime Minister goes to other countries and claims that the country's GDP is rising and India is becoming more prosperous. But in truth, the graph of poverty is on the rise,” he further alleged.

“The government takes advantage of minority votes but its fools them,” he said.

Azmi also demanded additional floor-space-index (FSI) for all religious institutions, especially the mosques.

He further said the octroi charged by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in Mumbai circle on cooking gas cylinders be abolished.
