The PIDB order prevents Akruti City from participating in Punjab state government projects for five years.

The order was passed after Akruti City withdrew its bid for a bus terminus project at SAS Nagar in Bathinda, which resulted in delay of the project.

PIDB managing director on Tuesday, issued an order in public interest to prevent Akruti City to participate in the tender process.

“The withdrawal of bid by the company has caused considerable loss to the Government of Punjab and setback to the development actions of the PIDB. It has delayed the two projects by over eight months and robbed public of vital utilities,” the MD observed.

The PIDB accorded an opportunity of personal hearing to the company representatives on July 8, but they failed to show up. On July 30, company chief operating officer Milap Bhansali and two legal counsels met the PIDB MD and submitted a detailed reply. The MD has observed in the blacklisting order that all tenders of the government are in the realm of the contract and in the interest of public at large.
