The most that any of the lakes received was 35 mm, at Vihar lake.

The other four lakes — Tulsi, Tansa, Bhatsa and Modak Sagar — received just 2 mm to 3 mm of water each.

Meanwhile, thanks to a week-long lull, total water stocks in all six lakes around Mumbai now stand at 1.32 lakh million litres, as against 1.53 lakh million litres at the same time last year. As a result, the 15 per cent water cut imposed on residents in August is likely to continue for a while.

Civic officials said cuts would only be rolled back once total water stocks had hit 7.5 lakh million litres.
