“Our black and yellow taxis and cool cabs will be available for passengers for the same fare,” said Avinash Gupta, director of Live Minds, the company launching the service.

Until now, Live Minds has tied up with 1700 taxi drivers and around 250 taxis are already plying on roads with the ‘book my cab’ tags.

The company plans to add another 4000 taxis to its fleet within six months. “In the future, we might charge some fees from taxi drivers,” he added. Company will be able to generate its revenue through advertising on taxis.

According to Transport department sources, GPS (Global Positioning System) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) have to be installed in all taxis, for this service.

Even taxi drivers who joined this service are satisfied. “We can earn more now and there is no problem of permit also,” said AK Singh, a taxi driver.
