The desk helps the relatives in tackling the complex paperwork while getting the patient admitted to the hospital. The group voluntarily sits at the help desk outside the outpatient’s department from 9.30 to 11.30am.

“Several people find it difficult to complete the paperwork. Often, they are found scuttling between several departments in the hospital. This can be very taxing for them at that hour,” said Vera Sequeira, one of the volunteers at the help desk.

Of late, there have been incidents of doctors being assaulted by the peeved relatives of the patient. “Our effort is to minimise the hassles,” said local corporator Adolf D’souza.
