Their advocate will again apply for their bail on Friday.

On October 20, after Avinash Solanki, a friend of Keenan Santos and Reuben Fernandes, approached the police and lodged a complaint against Rana and his friends, a police team was dispatched to Valmiki Nagar where the accused were suspected to be hiding.

During the combing operation conducted by the team, the 17 persons tried to stop the policemen from arresting the accused. The men were immediately arrested.

Arrested on charges of assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of duty, illegal assembly, and rioting of the Indian Penal Code, the 17 persons were remanded to police custody following which they were sent to judicial custody.
