Speaking during a debate in the Legislative Assembly, Sena group leader Subhash Desai said the need of the hour is to protect the heritage sites in the city.

"Functioning of the Heritage committee needs to be probed. It should be in the know of every thing related to heritage structures in the city. It's okay that Shah Rukh purchased the heritage bungalow. But, he even changed its name to Mannat. This is highly objectionable," Desai said.

He demanded a probe into what changes the actor had effected in the interiors of the heritage bungalow, adding, "We need to know if the heritage committee was informed of the changes."

Changing tracks, Desai said his party will thwart all attempts to separate Mumbai from Maharashtra as 105 people had martyred their lives for the cause of united Maharashtra.

Desai alleged there was a scam involving one crore sq ft of Transferable Development Rights (TDR) by MMRDA in Mumbai.

MNS member Nitin Sardesai called for a permit system for entry into Mumbai, saying, "We don't care if we are called anti-national. But, Mumbai's infrastructure cannot take the burden of more migrants any longer."
