“My family is not safe anymore,” she said.

Jaiswal is also worried about the effect it will have on her children. “Sanjana [my daughter], is afraid and has not approached me owing to my wounds” she said.

Local residents are terrified.

“Chorge comes to our general stores and takes away products for free,” said her mother Saroj. Chorge has been remanded in police custody till December 24.
