The police arrested the alleged killers of Nandgopal Pandey (45), from Sakinaka, who was found murdered on April 6. While scanning Pandey’s cellphone records, the police found Pandey spoke to one of the accused several times before he was killed.

Police Inspector Fatehsingh Patil, Thane Crime Investigation Unit said, “Pandey and accused Abdulla Khan knew each other. Khan had to pay Rs 17 lakh to Pandey for a business deal.”

“Pandey kept asking for the money, so Bablu decided to murder him, and hired Vijay Bansi, from Bhiwandi to do the job. Bablu promised Bansi Rs 7 lakh,” Patil said.

The police said Bansi forwarded the contract to Harad and his accomplices Patil, Shelaar and Shende for Rs 5 lakh. Patil said, “We first arrested the main accused Bablu and Bansi, who led us to their accomplices. They have been sent to seven day’s police custody.”
