Smart card in Shahpur, Murbad

Mahavitaran, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company, has decided to introduce smart cards for paying power bills in Shahpur and Murbad cities in Thane district from May 1.

Jagdish Ingale, deputy engineer, Kalyan, said the move would help save the customers’ time and money. “A customer has to pay Rs1,500 to get the smart card and use it to pay the electricity bill.

The machine will give a warning when you need to recharge the card,” said Ingale.
