The Government order came after repeated demands from the trust to relax the cap on the funds it can spend for donations and charity to 50 per cent from 30.

"We have asked the temple trust to submit the statistical data on disbursal of the donations for social cause before relaxing the norms," Law and Judiciary Minister, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil said.

A meeting in this regard was held in Mumbai on Tuesday with the minister and the trustees. The trust has been allowed to spend only 30 per cent of its disposable income annually on charity and donation which comes to approximately Rs 7 crore.
