State signs MoU with insurance firm

The state government and the National Insurance Company Ltd on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the first phase of the health scheme that aims to offer health cover to around 2 crore people.

The state government and the National Insurance Company Ltd on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the first phase of the health scheme that aims to offer health cover to around 2 crore people.

“The Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Aarogya Yojana should be implemented effectively and would create an identity of health department and National Insurance Company,” an official statement quoting chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said.

The scheme will provide good health services for free.

It will be a revolutionary scheme and to make it successful, the government machinery and National Insurance Company should work in collaboration, he said.
