Thackeray memorial: No-parking zones declared around Shivaji Park

Motorists have been advised to park their vehicles at certain zones in Dadar and Mahim of Senapati Bapat Marg, periphery of five gardens and Lakhamshi Napoo Road.

With lakhs of Shiv Sena workers expected to visit Shivaji Park on Monday, the area has been declared a no-parking zone.

Parking will not be allowed on Swatantryaveer Savarkar Marg (Siddhivinayak temple to Kapdabazar junction, Mahim), Keluskar Road (main road, south and north bound stretch), Pandurang Naik marg (Road No. 5 junction to L.J road, Mahim), Dadasaheb Rege marg (Senapati Bapat statue upto Gadkari junction), Lt Dilip Gupte Marg (Shivaji Park gate No 5 up to Shitladevi temple) and N.C Kelkar road (Gadkari junction to Hanuman temple junction, Dadar).

Motorists have been advised to park their vehicles at certain zones in Dadar and Mahim of Senapati Bapat Marg, periphery of five gardens and Lakhamshi Napoo Road.

The police have also beefed up security deployment in the area.

“Around 200 police officers and 800 police personnel will be deployed on Monday,” said deputy commissioner of police (Zone 5) Mahesh Patil.

Apart from large deployment of the city police force, quick response teams, two platoons of riot control, four platoons of The State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and combat vehicles will be stationed in the area as a precautionary measure, officials said on Sunday.
