In October, Jitin Nedumala, 23, who helped found Make a Difference (MAD) in 2006, received the Youth Action Net award for their work from the US. “Michelle Obama probably met us because she saw youth leaders steering the lives of those who had no parental support,” said Nedumala. MAD’s youth volunteers donate Rs 200 to Rs 300 every month and spend time every week teaching kids.
