MUMBAI: The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officials were surprised after they recovered gold bars that were hidden in the panel above the smoke detector inside the left rear toilet of the craft by an unidentified passenger on Thursday morning. “Based on information, we rummaged the aircraft that had arrived from Dubai and recovered 3 gold bars of one kilo each totally weighing 3 kilograms and valued at Rs 84.9 Lakhs,” said an AIU officer. AIU stated that the aircraft was to further fly to Mangalore.
