In two train mishaps, one person died after being hit by a speeding train and the other injured on Monday morning.

In two train mishaps, one person died after being hit by a speeding train and the other injured on Monday morning.

A 58-year-old man died after being hit by a Churchgate-bound fast train. The police suspect the deceased was trying to cross the tracks near Kandivli station. The Borivli Government Railway Police identified the body to be of Ramsevak Yadav.

“The deceased has no family and was working in a godown owned by Dinesh Jaiswal. He used to work as a labourer and sleep in the godown,” said Uday Rajeshirke, police inspector.

In another case, a 20-year-old youth fell off a moving train near Borivli station. The victim, Kewal Godadara, is a resident of Dahisar (W), and works at a firm dealing in decoration. He told the police that the train was over-crowded and he was standing on the footboard and lost his balance and fell. “He sustained a hairline crack on his left hand and 10 stitches on his forehead,” Rajeshirke said.
