In an effort to boost the public transport system and motivate citizens to hop on to a bus, the Mumbai Environmental Social Network (MESN) has developed a web-based route finder for Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) buses.

The route finder will give information on bus numbers for destinations as well as the routes. More than 45 lakh commuters use BEST buses every day.

“Transport is a big contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and a good public transport system will help reduce emissions and benefit public health,” said Rishi Agarwal of MESN. “Through technology, we hope more people will leave their cars home and opt for buses.”
