The police said that she would be arrested as soon as she is discharged from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Andheri (West).

“Her condition is stable but she cannot move out of bed. It will take at least a month before she is discharged from hospital. Following this, we will arrest her,” said Vijay Bhoite, senior police inspector, DN Nagar police station.

Earlier, the police did not register a case, as they wanted to record the woman’s statement to confirm whether she had fallen accidentally or had tried to commit suicide. However, in her statement on Monday, the woman told the police that she was depressed after her friend Vishal Gambhir, 33, had committed suicide in front of her.
