A senior woman officer with Vodafone company in Chennai was today found dead in a swimming pool of a five-star hotel in suburban Andheri, police said.

"Indumati Subramaniam (40), Deputy General Manager with Vodafone Company in Chennai, was found dead this evening in the swimming pool of ITC Grand Maratha Hotel," said H P Lokhande, police inspector at Sahar Police Station.

"Indumati was noticed in the swimming pool by a man. She was rushed to nearby hospital where she was declared dead," he said.

"We are investigating the matter from all possible angles, including murder angle," Lokhande said.

"If it is found that hotel management was negligent in any way, action would be taken against them," he said adding an accidental death case was registered.
