Woman commits suicide in Mumbai

A 24-year-old married woman, on Sunday, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the 28th floor residence of her building in Mumbai, police said.

The victim jumped from the balcony of her residence at Runwal Pride building in suburban Mulund, they said, adding that she died on the spot. The woman's parents alleged that their daughter had taken the drastic step as she was being harassed by her in-laws for dowry, they said.

According to police, they are probing the allegation and are questioning the victim's husband and in-laws, who were present at home when the incident took place.
