Train services on the Western line will be shut for six hours, from 10.30am to 4.30pm. This big mega block is being undertaken to enable Western Railway (WR) complete the electric conversion, from the existing 1,500V direct current (DC) to the new 25,000V alternating current (AC).

As a result, there will be no services between Bhayander and Bandra stations in any direction. Long distance services on this stretch will remain unaffected. To avoid any inconvenience to commuters, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking will operate special bus services between WR stations.

Sharat Chandrayan, WR, CPRO, informed, “The mega block on November 13 for DC to AC conversion is planned between Borivli and Vile Parle stations from 10.30am to 4.30pm. It will restrict train services between Bhayander and Bandra. Mail and Express will be worked with diesel locos as per schedule, but they will be provided additional halts at Andheri, Bhayander and Vasai.”
