Shortly after Mariah Carey announced her departure from ‘American Idol’, Nicki Minaj followed suit by announcing that she is also quitting the music talent show.

Minaj tweeted, “Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! (sic).” Her fellow judge, Carey, confirmed her departure from the show just before Minaj broke her news.

Carey cited the success of her latest single ‘Beautiful’ and the consequent world tour as her reasons for quitting, reported Hollywood Life. Apart from the tour, Carey has a number of other projects this year.
