Bryan Adams in Canadian Live 8
Our Lady Peace and Motley Crue will also perform along with Adams in Canada on July 2.
Bryan Adams, Our Lady Peace and Motley Crue will be among the headline acts at the Canadian edition of the Live 8 concert on July 2, organizers announced Tuesday.

The concert, one of eight held simultaneously around the world that day to raise awareness about poverty, will take place in Barrie, just north of Toronto, organizer Michael Cohl said. Actor Dan Aykroyd and comedian Tom Green will host the show, which will mostly feature Canadian artists, including Jann Arden, Gordon Lightfoot and The Tragically Hip.
The other concerts will be held in London, Paris, Berlin, Rome and Philadelphia, Tokyo and Johannesburg. Among the names in music to feature in the events are U2, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Coldplay and Sting.
Live 8 has been spearheaded by musician Bob Geldof, who organized the massive Live Aid concert 20 years ago and raised millions for African famine relief.
The Live 8 shows, however, are not intended to immediately raise funds but awareness before leaders of the wealthy G-8 countries meet in Britain.
